Sand and wheat-laden trucks collide in Begusarai, 2 dead

Begusarai: A sand-laden truck and a wheat-laden truck collided head-on in Begusarai on Monday night, killing drivers of both the vehicles. The accident took place on Sri Krishna Setu under the Sahebpur Kamal police station area.According to police, the deceased were identified as Sukesh Kumar (26), a resident of Munger district, and Satyam Kumar (22), a resident of the Chhaurahi police station area in Begusarai district.Sahebpur Kamal SHO Sintu Kumar said Sukesh Kumar was driving the sand-laden truck, while Satyam was driving the wheat-laden truck. “The incident occurred around 2.30pm. Both trucks were badly damaged. The bodies were trapped inside the wreckage, and a JCB was called to retrieve them,” he said.Sukesh’s cousin Mukesh, also a truck driver, said the victim was travelling from Jamui to Supaul. “He took the Munger bridge route after the Bhagalpur bridge collapsed,” he said.Satyam’s brother-in-law, Raja Kumar, said the family received information about the incident on Tuesday morning.
